Softball instructor Marissa Young returns to MSA

The Michigan Sports Academy is excited to announce that Marissa Young will be returning to MSA to provide softball instruction starting this summer!

Marissa is one of the most well accomplished softball instructors in the area.  Young played her collegiate softball at the University of Michigan, where she was one of the program's most decorated players.  Upon graduating from Michigan, Marissa joined the professional ranks overseas in Italy in 2003.  After spending one season abroad, Marissa headed home and helped lead the Texas Thunder of the National Pro Fastpitch League to the 2004 championship.  Some of Marissa's accolades include:

  • 3 time All American at the University of Michigan
  • 2002 Big Ten Pitcher of the Year
  • 2003 Big Ten Player of the Year
  • Top 5 in career strikeouts (pitching) and homeruns (hitting) at the University of Michigan

Marissa will be offering softball pitching, hitting, and fielding instruction on:

  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Thursday
  • Friday
  • Saturday

We would also like to announce a Softball Summer Camp taking place July 17th - July 19th.  The camp will be located at MSA.  Both morning and afternoon sessions are available.

Cost: $150 or $50 per day
